Infinity Corrected E-Plan 50X Oil Immersion ObjectiveInfinity optics or infinity corrected optics as they are sometimes called are an alternative to the standard DIN objectives. An infinity optical system allows an "infinitely variable" distance between the objective and the eyepiece. In an infinity optic, the light rays that are exciting the objective toward the head travel in a parallel path. Most DIN standard microscopes today utilize a finite optical system where the objective must be a fixed distance, usually 160 mm from the eyepiece. Infinity optics allow the introduction of accessories, such as an epi-fluorescent light module to be inserted in the light path. Our infinity objectives are Plan Achromatic for best clarity and provides a 100% flat field from edge to edge. Most current Nikon and Olympus lab microscopes feature Infinity systems.
